The Western Front, Christmas, 1914. Out of the violence a silence, then a song. A German soldier steps into No Man’s Land singing “Stille Nacht.” Thus begins an extraordinary night of camaraderie, music, and peace. A remarkable true story told in the words and songs of the men who lived it.

Opera Theater of Cape Cod is bringing this story to life using the English National Opera's translation of the piece, so that audience members who are new to opera can experience the piece in a more accessible way. Our staging takes the story into the present day, and the Studio Theater at Tilden Arts Center will allow us to create intimate and immersive performances for our audiences.

Our staging takes the story into the present day, and beautiful venue at Wellfleet Preservation Hall allows us to immerse fully the audience in the music and the drama.
