Matthew O’Donnell is an American Baritone originally from the New York City area. Matt discovered his passion for opera performance as a student at the prestigious Juilliard pre-college program. He received both his BM and MM degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music, and in May 2020 completed a Graduate Diploma there. His most recent performance at the Conservatory was singing the role of Giove in La Calisto.

Matthew was proudly invited to join the Santa Fe Opera as an Apprentice Artist for the summer of 2020, covering the role of Fiorello in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. He had previously completed Artist residencies at Opera North (2019) and ICAV (2018), and also sang the role of Schaunard in Opera Theater of Cape Cod’s production of La Bohème in September 2019. He has performed with Odyssey Opera, the BYSO and Chorus, and with the Boston Microtonal Society and Alea III. Matthew recently performed in the Opera North production of All is Calm in December 2021. Matt currently resides in the city of Indianapolis and looks forward to new creative opportunities in Indianapolis and beyond.
